Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

A nonprofit organization serving individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join its Community Living Program. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans, support daily living skills, and help individuals maximize their independence.

Responsibilities:

• Implement OT treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist
• Provide therapeutic activities, ADL training, ROM exercises, and mobility support
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
• Collaborate with families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
• Train individuals and staff on therapeutic programs and adaptive equipment
• Participate in care plan and team meetings

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current NYS COTA license required
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment and therapeutic interventions
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
