Work Now Staffing is looking to hire Trace & Track Clerks for our Romeoville client.
Shift: 2nd Shift - 1:00pm - 9:30pm, Monday - Friday
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Job Details:
The Track & Trace Clerk plays a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of freight operations by monitoring inbound and outbound shipments, accurately tracking freight movement, and maintaining clear communication with drivers, dispatch, and internal teams. This position is similar to a Shipping & Receiving Clerk role but with a strong emphasis on freight tracing and driver coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and trace all inbound local and OTR (over-the-road) freight to ensure on-time arrivals
- Perform outbound tracing at 8:00 PM to confirm shipment status and delivery timelines
- Check drivers in and out of the facility in an accurate and timely manner
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and internal operations teams to resolve delays or discrepancies
- Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation in the company’s transportation management system (TMS)
- Escalate any service failures or exceptions promptly to supervisors
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or shipping/receiving preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and tracking updates
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks

- Regular interaction with drivers, dispatchers, and operations personnel
