Deli Clerk – Part-Time

Sofo’s Italian Market is looking for a customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Deli Clerk!
In this role, you will help keep our deli department running efficiently by ensuring excellent customer service, fresh and tasty products, support your team members with various tasks, and ensuring a fun and customer focused work environment. Accountabilities:
- Provide exceptional service to our guest by answering questions and providing product recommendations.
- Ensure deli case is stocked and presented well.
- Clean and sanitize department including equipment, works areas, containers and utensils.
- Follow all safe food handling and personal hygiene practices.
- Ensure products, sandwiches, salads and special orders are prepared to specifications.
- Maintain a professional appearance in line with our workplace dress code and conduct standards. This includes adhering to hygiene and grooming expectations outlined in the employee handbook.
- Adhere to all safety practices when using equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Customer-focused and friendly
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills – written, verbal and listening.
- Proficient in assisting guests with their needs by asking questions, listening and providing a selection product.
- Ability to merchandise the department to present a fresh and appealing display and self-service areas.
- Ability to meet cleaning and sanitation standards.
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team
- Available to work evenings and weekends
- A passion for food and helping customers is a plus!
