What You'll Do

• Locate, identify, inspect, document, and map water, sewer, reclaimed water, and other utility infrastructure.
• Locate underground utilities using electronic locating equipment, GPS, blueprints, radar, and other methods.
• Inspect and document assets including water and sewer mains, valves, hydrants, meters, manholes, lift stations, backflow devices, and related infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate utility and asset management records and update information following repairs and construction projects.
• Research asset information and assist with reports, maintenance tracking, and work orders.
• Coordinate with third-party utility locating companies and respond to questions from contractors and property owners.
• Work with utility operations and management to support the City's asset management program.
• Perform other related duties, including emergency/on-call work when required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Florida driver's license and insurability by the City.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to read plans, specifications, and maps.
• Strong organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and work outdoors.
• Ability to use or learn electronic utility locating equipment.

Experience in utilities, public works, construction, utility locating, surveying, GIS/mapping, infrastructure inspection, maintenance, or asset management is a plus!

NIMS training required within one year of employment.
