Claims Team Leader - Financial Services/Banking

Tasks

• Supervises a team of Claims Senior Professionals and Professionals performing the deposit-insurance and creditor-claims work described above.
• Delegates work, sets deadlines, monitors production and reviews and critiques team work products in CAS-DI / CAS-NDC for accuracy and compliance before they go to FDIC.
• Handles escalations from claimants and depositors; prepares routine reports and forms for the Claims Manager and FDIC.

Minimum qualifications (RBOA §4.2.9 – verbatim)

• Three (3) years of bank operations experience or three (3) years previous claims processing or accounts payable experience. Knowledge of FDIC deposit insurance rules and regulations a plus.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience (reflected on résumé).
• Ability to communicate clearly in delegating tasks, setting clear expectations and deadlines, monitoring progress and providing support when needed, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the expected standard, and providing feedback.
• Ability to review and critique the work products prepared by subordinate staff for accuracy and compliance with client's policies and procedures.
• Ability to carefully follow written and/or verbal directions; requiring minimal supervision beyond initial explanation.
• Ability to calmly, accurately and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels in a highly-charged environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook – and ability to quickly learn FDIC Claims Department data processing systems.
• Skill in the preparation of routine reports and forms.

Who to look for

• Deposit/branch operations supervisors, teller supervisors, accounts payable supervisors, claims processing supervisors (insurance, HUD/FHA, investor claims), collections team leads, BSA/AML or fraud operations team leads at banks – anyone who has supervised a processing team for two years and has three years of bank operations, claims or A/P.
