Abundant Solutions is hiring a Nester for a manufacturing company in Collinsville, OK. This position works closely with Engineering, Design, Production, and Scheduling to create and optimize material nests for laser and plasma cutting operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with nesting or CAD/CAM software, understand sheet metal fabrication processes, and be comfortable working with engineering drawings and manufacturing files.
Responsibilities:
- Create and optimize nests for laser and plasma cutting equipment
- Use ProNest, TruBoost, or similar nesting software
- Maximize material utilization and minimize scrap
- Review engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Retrieve and manage engineering files using Autodesk Vault
- Create and modify DXF files from Autodesk Inventor models and drawings
- Verify part quantities, materials, and cutting requirements before releasing nests to production
- Coordinate with Engineering and Design to resolve drawing or manufacturability issues
- Prioritize nesting based on production schedules and machine workload
- Maintain accurate nesting, material usage, and production records
- Assist production personnel with questions regarding cutting files and nested programs
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, CAD/CAM programming, nesting, or a related field preferred
- Experience with ProNest, TruBoost, or similar nesting software
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault
- Ability to create and modify DXF files
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and laser/plasma cutting processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- ERP/MRP experience is a plus
