Are you an experienced CNC Machinist who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and producing exceptional work? This is an outstanding opportunity to join a highly respected Northeast Ohio manufacturer that values skilled machinists and the expertise they bring to the team.
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Vertical Mill Operator with strong setup skills and hands-on experience in both milling and turning operations.
Unlike traditional high-volume production environments, this company specializes in low-volume, high-precision machining, with typical production runs of just 1–30 pieces. You'll have the opportunity to put your technical skills to work on a variety of projects where accuracy, problem-solving, and attention to detail truly matter.
If you're looking for a company where your machining experience is valued and you can take pride in the quality of your work, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
Responsibilities
- Independently set up and operate Vertical CNC Machining Centers.
- Load and position materials, tooling, and fixtures for precision machining.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Perform machine and tooling offset adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
- Inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot machining, setup, and tooling issues to ensure consistent quality.
- Work on low-volume production runs requiring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in a Vertical Machining Center environment.
- Required: Strong hands-on CNC setup experience with the ability to work independently.
- Required: Experience with BOTH CNC milling and turning operations.
- Required: Experience with CNC lathes or Okuma controls.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Working knowledge of G-code and M-code.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and tight-tolerance machining.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting abilities, and attention to detail.
- Experience with Mori Seiki Vertical Mills is preferred.
- Must meet employment eligibility requirements and applicable ITAR U.S. person requirements.
Benefits and Perks
- Competitive compensation of $30.00–$37.00 per hour.
- Additional $5.00 per hour for second shift.
- Direct-hire placement with an established Northeast Ohio manufacturer.
- Opportunity to work on challenging, precision-machined components.
- Low-volume production environment that values technical expertise over repetitive production.
- Stable, long-term career opportunity with a company committed to quality and craftsmanship.
Your New Organization
Join an exceptional Northeast Ohio manufacturer with a reputation for producing high-quality precision components for demanding industries. This organization takes pride in its craftsmanship, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence.
What makes this opportunity especially appealing is the chance to work in an environment where skilled machining is truly a craft. Rather than focusing on high-volume production, the team works on smaller production runs that allow experienced machinists to apply their knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
For a machinist who enjoys variety, precision work, and the satisfaction of producing quality components, this is an opportunity to build a rewarding, long-term career with a company that values what you bring to the table.
