Experienced Handyman / General Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a versatile handyman who knows their way around a job site and takes pride in fixing things right the first time. You will handle a variety of day-to-day general repair projects, including small drywall repairs, door adjustments, tile/flooring fixes, and basic fixture repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• General Repairs & Maintenance: Perform routine home and facility maintenance, including minor drywall patching, repairing misaligned or sticking doors, ceiling tile replacement, and occasional flooring fixes.
• Specialized Tasks: Assist with minor outdoor/property maintenance tasks as needed (all necessary tools for specialized jobs are provided).
• Communication & Job Tracking: Maintain clear, proactive communication throughout the workday. Send simple, timely updates (e.g., "Arrived at site," "Need materials," "Job completed – attached before & after photos").
• Workplace Safety & Standards: Maintain a clean, organized work site and operate power/hand tools safely.
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Trade Experience: Proven track record working on job sites with strong knowledge of basic building repairs, hardware installation, and general trade practices.
• Tool Proficiency: Demonstrated experience safely operating standard hand and power tools.
• Communication: Exceptional reliability and quick communication via text/phone are critical to this role.
• Personal Tools: Ownership of standard basic tools is preferred (heavy-duty/specialized tools are provided by the company).
• Transport & Coverage: Reliable transportation to travel between job sites around Chesapeake. (Note: Our company insurance covers damage to your personal tools while on the job).
  

Compensation & Contract Details

• Straightforward Pay-per-Job: Earn competitive per-job rates (ranging from ~$100 for a quick 1-hour task up to $350+ for full-day jobs).
• Weekly Pay: Consistent weekly payouts for all completed work during that pay period.
• Contract Structure: 1099 Independent Contractor position (no benefits, direct high-value pay).
