Director of Accounting

Our client is a growing alternative investment manager looking for a Director to lead fund accounting and fund operations across its investment platform. You’ll own the quarterly and annual close for the funds, manage the administrator relationship, and tighten up the operational processes that sit around the books. This is a seat for someone who likes being both technical and hands-on with process.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee NAV calculations, capital activity, waterfalls, and fund-level reporting across multiple vehicles
\n
• Review quarterly financials, partner capital statements, and annual audited financials, and coordinate with auditors through year-end
\n
• Manage the relationship with third-party administrators and review their work product
\n
• Own cash movements, capital calls, distributions, and the controls around them
\n
• Partner with investor relations, tax, legal, and compliance on investor reporting, side letters, and fund documents
\n
• Improve workflows across fund operations, including reconciliations, onboarding of new vehicles, and system and data integrity
\n
• Lead and develop a team of 4 to 6 accountants and analysts
\n
• Support new fund launches and acquisitions from an accounting and operations standpoint
\n

Requirements:

\n
• 8 to 15 years of fund accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a management role
\n
• CPA preferred
\n
• Strong knowledge of partnership accounting, allocations, and fund structures (master/feeder, SPVs, co-invests)
