Material Handler / Forklift Operator

Location: St. Louis, MO 63132

Pay: $26.69/hour

Job Type: Contract with opportunity for permanent conversion

Shift: 2nd Shift, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM

Workplace: On-site

Job Summary

We are hiring a Material Handler / Forklift Operator to support warehouse and inventory operations in a busy manufacturing environment. This position combines forklift operation, material handling, inventory organization, and daily computer work.

Candidates should have sit-down forklift experience and basic computer skills. A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to work as part of a team are important for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive incoming stock and materials
• Organize and store products in designated warehouse locations
• Move, load, and unload large materials using forklifts
• Operate a sit-down forklift regularly throughout the shift
• Utilize a stand-up forklift as needed
• Update and track inventory using computer systems
• Perform basic data entry using Excel and inventory software
• Verify product quantities and information for accuracy
• Help organize and improve warehouse and stock areas
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Work closely with other warehouse and production team members

Required Qualifications

• Sit-down forklift experience
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. independently
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable attendance and work habits
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

Preferred Experience

• Stand-up forklift operation
• Excel
• Oracle ERP or similar inventory systems
• Shipping and receiving
• Inventory management
• Warehouse or material handling experience

Previous Oracle ERP experience is not required. Candidates must be comfortable using computers and willing to learn the system.

Schedule & Training

• Regular schedule is 2nd shift, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Initial training takes place on 1st shift for approximately 90 days
• Employees receive the 2nd-shift pay rate during the training period

Work Environment

• Large, active warehouse and shop environment
• Facility is not climate controlled
• Fans and heaters are used depending on seasonal conditions
• Position includes a combination of forklift operation, physical material handling, and computer-based inventory work

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.69 - $26.69/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
