Why Join Our Team?
The Swan Center for Plastic Surgery is an established, Joint Commission-accredited outpatient surgical facility specializing in elective cosmetic procedures. Our intimate, two-operating-room setting allows nurses to work closely with experienced surgeons, anesthesia providers, and a collaborative perioperative team.
Our nurses enjoy a unique opportunity to participate in all phases of surgical care while developing strong clinical skills and meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues. We value individuals who take pride in their work, communicate effectively, and recognize the importance of teamwork in a smaller surgical environment.
What We Offer:
- Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.
- A specialized outpatient surgical environment serving a generally healthy, elective patient population.
- Opportunities to develop and utilize skills across Pre-Op, OR circulation, and PACU.
- A supportive, hands-on team environment with direct access to surgeons and leadership.
- A strong emphasis on patient safety, quality outcomes, and professional accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care across Pre-Op, Operating Room (OR), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) settings for a variety of elective plastic surgery procedures.
- Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, review medical histories, and ensure patients are appropriately prepared for surgery.
- Serve as a circulating RN, coordinating intraoperative care, maintaining patient safety, and collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team members.
- Monitor patients during post-anesthesia recovery, manage pain and nausea, assess discharge readiness, and provide patient and caregiver education.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with facility policies and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure efficient surgical workflows, effective communication, and a positive patient experience.
- Demonstrate flexibility by transitioning between perioperative roles and assisting team members as surgical schedules and patient care needs evolve.
- Support a safe, organized surgical environment through adherence to infection prevention practices, room readiness, and established patient safety protocols.
Qualifications:
• Current RN license in Georgia.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, TEAM-ORIENTED environment.
• Experience in plastic or cosmetic surgery is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to assist with patient positioning, transfers, and mobility support during pre-op, surgical, and recovery phases, with or without reasonable accommodation.
