Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Flex Shift

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, prioritize, and deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and emergencies using strong clinical judgment
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS personnel, and inpatient teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Manage multiple patient needs simultaneously, adapting quickly to changing clinical situations in a fast-paced rural emergency department
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based emergency nursing practices

Required Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN license or Compact Multi-State RN license required
• Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum three (3) years of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound clinical judgment, and function effectively in a rural emergency department environment
• Reliable personal transportation required — public transportation and rideshare services are not available in the area
• Flu vaccination required; no exceptions
• All credentialing documentation must be submitted no later than five business days prior to the scheduled start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• TNCC certification preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech strongly preferred; candidates must demonstrate the ability to learn the system quickly
• Experience caring for a broad range of patient populations and emergency conditions
