Job Description

This role supports a busy industrial production facility that works extensively with steel, rebar, and concrete. You will perform hands-on general labor tasks using hand and power tools, follow detailed instructions, and complete repetitive processes with a high level of accuracy. The position is well-suited to someone with construction or trades experience who can reliably read a tape measure, work safely in a dirty, non-climate-controlled environment, and contribute to a growing operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor duties in an industrial production environment, primarily supporting the rebar department.
• Work with steel and rebar materials, following established processes and quality standards.
• Use a tape measure accurately and consistently for measurements and quality checks; complete checklists with precision.
• Set cages and apply indicators such as pipe size, batch number, and other identifying information.
• Use a blow torch to heat the inside of pipes as part of the production process, following safety procedures.
• Clean and oil molds and maintain a clean, organized work area to support efficient production.
• Operate and handle basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow written and verbal instructions carefully and complete repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
• Assist with general construction, assembly, and production-related tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues or defects to the appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while working in an outdoor/warehouse environment.
• Support other duties as assigned within the warehouse and production areas.

Essential Skills

• Proven general labor experience in an industrial, construction, trades, landscaping, or similar hands-on environment.
• Comfort working with concrete, steel, and rebar in a production setting.
• Strong ability to read and use a tape measure accurately; willing to complete a tape-measure test.
• Experience using basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to perform very repetitive tasks while maintaining focus and accuracy.
• Capability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Work history that demonstrates at least 2 years of tenure at previous jobs, rather than short-term 36 month stints.
• Reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and be trained on specific processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with steel and rebar in an industrial or construction environment.
• Experience in construction trades, assembly, landscaping, carpentry, or production work.
• Familiarity with overhead crane operation (a strong plus but not required).
• Experience reading blueprints or working from basic drawings (preferred).
• Exposure to concrete production or similar heavy industrial environments.
• Forklift experience or comfort working around forklifts and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors and in a warehouse/production environment that is not climate controlled.
• Comfort working in a dirty environment due to concrete and related materials.

Work Environment

The role is based in an outdoor/warehouse production environment that is not climate controlled, so you will work in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes. The facility handles concrete, steel, and rebar, resulting in a dirty, heavy industrial setting where safety practices and proper use of equipment are essential. You will work around and use hand tools, power tools, and potentially material-handling equipment in a busy production area. The plant operates on a defined schedule that may differ from previous hours of operation, and specific shift details will be confirmed during the hiring process. The site offers updated bathrooms, lockers, and showers, and provides uniforms and boots once you transition to permanent employment.

This is a Contract position based out of Fayetteville, NC.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
