About this job
Description
Senior Electrical Certification & Qualification Engineer
Location: New Freedom, PA (Hybrid/Onsite)
Travel: Up to 25% (primarily for testing and certification activities)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Certification & Qualification Engineer to lead the evaluation, qualification, testing, and certification of high-amperage power distribution and protection components used in industrial chiller systems.
This role was created to address ongoing supply chain constraints affecting critical electrical components, particularly 800-2000A circuit breakers, disconnect switches, fuse blocks, fuses, and associated accessories. As traditional suppliers face extended lead times and limited availability, the organization is pursuing alternate sourcing strategies that may require new UL certifications, product-specific listings, and qualification of components not currently approved for existing applications.
The successful candidate will serve as the company's technical authority for electrical component qualification and certification. This individual will develop certification strategies, manage testing programs, coordinate directly with UL and third-party laboratories, and provide technical recommendations regarding the use of alternate-sourced electrical protection equipment.
This is not a product design role. Instead, the focus is on component qualification, certification strategy, testing oversight, and regulatory compliance.
