Job Profile Summary
Performs computer functions, processes patient specimens, maintains department inventory, operates and maintains equipment, and performs record keeping tasks and QI functions. Performs routine histological procedures. Adheres to patient identification, Lab safety, and other Mercy Lab and department policies and procedures. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications:

            Education: High school diploma or equivalent

            Experience:

            Certification:

Preferred:

            Preferred Education: Associate’s degree

            Preferred Experience: 5 years in a histology lab performing histotechnician duties

            Certification: HT(ASCP) or obtained within 18 months of hire date

            Other Skills and Knowledge: Medical terminology
