Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts (7p–7a, with flexible scheduling across available shift times including 3p–3a and 11p–11a) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a high-volume Emergency Department serving both adult and pediatric populations, with approximately 325 visits per day across both ERs
• Manage a patient assignment including ER holds intermixed within the department, with RNs responsible for managing their own holds
• Participate in triage as required; facility utilizes a dedicated triage team at the start of each day
• Float between Adult ER and Pediatric ER as needed; some travelers may be assigned exclusively to one area or work both — must have experience with both adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Complete EKG interpretation testing during orientation; critical care RNs (ED/ICU/PICU) will complete additional curricula including STEMI and Procedural Sedation modules
• Adhere to department dress code: navy blue scrubs required; no hoodies, sweatshirts, or sweat jackets permitted

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room (ER) experience required
• Must have experience with both adult and pediatric emergency patients; roughly 50% of the patient population is pediatric — candidates assigned to the Pediatric ER must have significant Peds ER experience, not general pediatric experience alone
• Must have prior triage experience
• Experience in a comparable high-volume environment is required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience with Phillips telemetry systems
• Background in STEMI, CVA, burn, or procedural sedation patient care
• Comfort working in a fast-track or lobby-based care environment
