Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical (3x12's – Nights)

Location

Indianapolis, IN | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | 3x12-Hour Shifts per Week | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Rotating weekends (every 3rd) and rotating holidays | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed post-surgical unit serving post-op patients from general and bariatric surgery, as well as overflow medical patients
• Maintain a 1:5 patient ratio, demonstrating strong time management and prioritization skills
• Utilize Epic EMR and Pyxis for documentation and medication management
• Manage and monitor surgical drains and post-operative patient needs
• Float to similar Med/Surg units based on rotation and census needs
• Complete assigned education modules prior to reporting to the floor on the first day

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (or compact eligibility) in the state of Indiana
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Experience with surgical drains
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and time management skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior post-surgical or Med/Surg nursing experience
• Familiarity with bariatric surgery patient populations
• Experience with Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a strong patient advocate in a fast-paced environment
