Electromechanical Assembly Technician

Job Description

The Electromechanical Technician assembles, aligns, sets up, and calibrates optically based instruments and subassemblies in a production or prototype environment. This role performs system tests, conducts final testing, and troubleshoots electromechanical issues using electronic instrumentation and hand tools to ensure high-quality, reliable systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and align optical subassemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Assemble, set up, and calibrate optically based instruments and complete both sub-assembly and final assembly of electromechanical systems.
• Perform system tests and execute final testing prior to release to downstream work areas.
• Use electronic instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, frequency counters, logic analyzers, and digital voltmeters (DVMs) to verify system performance.
• Troubleshoot electromechanical issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve failures or performance problems.

Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of experience as an Electromechanical Assembler and Test Technician in a production or prototype environment.
• Hands-on experience with sub-assembly and final assembly of electromechanical systems.
• Work experience with lasers and optical equipment is preferred.
• Experience aligning optics and optical subassemblies is highly desirable.
• Experience working with instrumentation and precision assemblies.
• Ability to work effectively in both production and prototype environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA.

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA.

This position is anticipated to close on Nov 2, 2026.
