Metal Fabricator / Delivery Driver

At Metal Source, LLC, we are seeking to bring on a Metal Fabricator & Delivery Driver who will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of preparation of customer orders for delivery.  The efforts necessary include picking materials from a pick list, cutting, shearing, bending and drilling to specified size, cleaning and packaging the material, returning unused material to stock, and loading the customer’s vehicle.  Some orders require delivery to the customer using the company flatbed truck.  Other outside driving requirements also include picking up materials from our suppliers and various errands as required by the business.  Outside driving is approximately 1/3rd of the total job requirement, however, there may be occasional longer range deliveries that would require most of the business day to complete. 

This role is also responsible for the general upkeep of the warehouse facility and requires cleaning and lubrication of machinery, sweeping/mopping the floors and general clean up and organization of tools and supplies.  This role represents the Company to our customers and other business partners and is required to do so in a mature, professional and courteous manner.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Completes various daily procedures related to start up and shut down of operations
• Operates band saw, metal shear, drill press and other metal working equipment according to standards and safety procedures.
• Picks, cuts, and packages metal to precise requirements of the customer orders
• Promotes excellence in all aspects of the customer service experience
• Drives company vehicle in efficient routes and in observation of laws and regulations
• Operates fork lift truck for picking and moving material as well as loading/unloading trucks
• Exercises safe lifting methods and observes other safety regulations
• Responsible for overall cleanliness of the warehouse space, including daily sweeping and mopping tasks
• Ensures materials are properly marked for size and alloy prior to storage
• Performs inventory cycle counts as directed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3 years’ of relevant prior work experience
• Formal education beyond high school preferred, but not required
• Good basic math skills and the ability to understand diagrams and dimensional drawings
• Ability to operate heavy equipment, fork lift and flat bed truck
• Good navigational skills and knowledge of the streets and highways of greater Jacksonville
• Valid Florida driver license with good driving record
• Physical ability to lift and move metal product weighing 50 to 80 pounds
• Ability to react to frequent priority/schedule/routing changes as driven by business needs
• Experience with or understanding of metal products and the metal distribution industry would be helpful
