Commercial Electrician

Location: Lakewood, NJ (Sites in Brick and Toms River)

Pay: $25-$35 an hour

Job Description

This role is responsible for the installation of lighting systems for a warehouse construction project in the JacksonBrickToms River, NJ area. The electrician installs, troubleshoots, and completes electrical work in accordance with NEC standards and local codes, while working largely independently with minimal supervision. The position involves frequent work at height using scissor lifts and requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficient project execution.

Responsibilities

• Install lighting systems in commercial and warehouse environments in the JacksonBrickToms River, NJ area.
• Interpret and work from electrical blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute installations.
• Perform electrical installation tasks including conduit installation, wiring, and mechanical assembly related to lighting systems.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC standards and local electrical codes.
• Safely operate scissor lifts and other site equipment at heights of approximately 1419 feet.
• Work independently in the field with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues and electrical problems as they arise on site.
• Maintain strong safety practices and adhere to all site safety protocols and procedures.
• Coordinate daily tasks to support efficient project progress and contribute to overall field execution.
• Demonstrate leadership on site by setting a professional example and supporting a safe, organized work area.

Essential Skills

• 48 years of electrical construction or commercial electrical installation experience.
• Proven experience with electrical installation of lighting systems in commercial and warehouse environments.
• Ability to safely operate scissor lifts at heights of approximately 1419 feet.
• Strong knowledge of NEC standards and local electrical codes.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Independent work style with the ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for electrical and installation issues.
• Hands-on skills in installation, mechanical assembly, conduit installation, and wiring.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Strong safety awareness and consistent adherence to site safety protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Experience on large-scale warehouse or commercial construction projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work at height using powered access equipment.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to organize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Comfort working outdoors and in varying site conditions.

This is a Contract position based out of Lakewood, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
