Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 230 visits per day across 36 beds with overflow capacity
• Manage a diverse patient caseload including adult and geriatric populations, with approximately 10% pediatric patients; conditions include respiratory, stroke, abdominal pain, cardiac, and sepsis presentations
• Deliver care within a Stroke and STEMI Center environment, applying stroke-specific clinical competencies
• Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio and adapt to fluctuating census and acuity demands
• Float to Tele Hold and ICU Hold units as needed based on unit requirements
• Commit to weekend availability, with an expected minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule cycle, which may include shifts every weekend

Required Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license valid in California; compact license must be in hand at time of submission — pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent Emergency Room experience required; 2 years preferred
• Stroke experience is required — candidates without stroke experience will not be considered
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Must be available to work weekends, including potential every-weekend scheduling to meet unit need, and must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard contract rates; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR highly preferred; candidates without Epic experience should be disclosed at time of submission
• Preferred certifications: TNCC and/or CEN or CPN
• Familiarity with Meditech charting systems
• Experience in Magnet-designated facilities
