Audit Manager
Join a well-established, 100+ person CPA firm in downtown Dallas where you get the client variety and resources of a large firm-without the impersonal culture or punishing busy seasons of a national shop. As an Audit Manager, you will play a critical role in leading engagements, driving client relationships, and mentoring the next generation of staff in a firm that actively invests in its people.
What you'll do
- Engagement Oversight: Manage full-cycle audit, review, and compilation engagements for a diverse portfolio of middle-market clients.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and coach senior and staff auditors, delivering timely, constructive feedback to drive professional growth.
- Quality Assurance: Review financial statements, footnote disclosures, and management letters to ensure compliance with US GAAP and professional standards.
- Technical Consulting: Research and resolve complex accounting and auditing issues in collaboration with partners and clients.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as a primary client contact, building trusted relationships and ensuring engagements stay on schedule and within budget.
- Firm Development: Contribute to internal initiatives including technical training, quality control reviews, and firm-wide process improvements.
What you need
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive audit experience in a public accounting firm, including previous supervisory or senior-level experience.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
- Credentials: Active CPA license is required for this management-level role.
- Technical Skills: Deep working knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, and internal control frameworks.
- Leadership Ability: Proven track record of managing multiple engagements simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and leading team members.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for high-level client and partner interactions.
Nice to have
- Market Expertise: Specialized experience with middle-market industries or owner-managed businesses.
- Tech Savvy: Advanced familiarity with common audit software platforms and data analytics tools.
Pay & benefits
- Base salary: $130,000 to $155,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Retirement: 401(k) plan with a competitive firm matching contribution.
- Time Off: Generous PTO bank plus paid firm holidays.
- Professional Growth: Full reimbursement for CPE credits and professional society dues.
- Flexibility: True hybrid schedule for an optimal work-life balance.
Location & schedule
- Location: Downtown Dallas, Texas (Hybrid).
Schedule: Full-time position with standard business hours. We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement blending remote and in-office days each week to maximize both collaboration and personal flexibility, featuring highly manageable busy-season expectations.
