Infant Toddler Assistant

Job Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, loving, and nurturing care to infants and toddlers.
• Change diapers regularly and maintain proper hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Assist children with potty training, including bathroom routines, handwashing, and developing independence.
• Actively interact with children through play, reading, singing, storytelling, and age-appropriate learning activities.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities, daily routines, and transitions.
• Support children with feeding, meals, snacks, and nap routines.
• Encourage positive behavior, social skills, and emotional development.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroom.
• Sanitize toys, changing areas, tables, and classroom materials as required.
• Provide comfort, encouragement, and individualized attention to children.
• Work cooperatively with teachers and follow the direction of the Owner/Director.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and positive relationships with families.
• Follow all childcare licensing requirements, safety procedures, and center policies.

Qualifications

• Must genuinely love children and enjoy working with infants and toddlers.
• Must be comfortable changing diapers and assisting with potty training throughout the day.
• Previous childcare experience preferred.
• Patient, nurturing, energetic, reliable, and attentive.
• Ability to communicate professionally and work well with a team.
• Willingness to participate actively in classroom activities rather than simply observe.
• Ability to lift and carry young children and assist with daily physical caregiving duties.
• Must meet applicable California childcare licensing, background clearance, and health requirements.
• CPR , First Aid and Mandated Reporting certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
