Accounts Receivable Clerk

Job Summary

RM Steel Buildings is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable / Invoicing Specialist to manage customer invoicing, track payments, and assist with accounts receivable operations. This position will work closely with our office and project management teams to ensure invoices are accurate, payments are collected on time, and customer accounts remain up to date.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and send customer invoices for construction projects.
• Track outstanding invoices and follow up on past-due payments.
• Record customer payments and maintain accurate account records.
• Review purchase orders, job information, and project documentation for billing accuracy.
• Communicate with customers regarding invoices, payment status, and billing questions.
• Assist with project billing, progress billing, and retainage tracking as needed.
• Maintain organized electronic and paper records.
• Assist with general accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of accounts receivable, invoicing, or bookkeeping preferred.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
