Box Truck Driver

JOB OVERVIEW

Join our dynamic team as a Box Truck Driver and become a vital part of our logistics operation. In this fast-paced role, you will safely operate box trucks to deliver freight efficiently across various routes. Your expertise will help ensure timely deliveries, proper cargo handling, accurate documentation, and adherence to all applicable safety regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·   Safely operate box trucks, including refrigerated equipment when assigned, on over-the-road (OTR) routes and local deliveries.

·   Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques to help prevent cargo damage or injury.

·   Use GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time navigation adjustments.

·   Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods when assigned, following applicable hazmat regulations and FMCSA standards.

·   Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, equipment, and cargo to ensure safety and DOT compliance.

·   Handle and secure freight using appropriate logistics and cargo-handling procedures based on the assigned equipment and load.

·   Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, proof of delivery, and required reports in accordance with company and DOT requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

·   Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is optional/preferred, but not required. A clean driving record is required.

·   Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or truck loading/unloading roles.

·   Knowledge of truck-driving safety protocols, FMCSA regulations, and hazardous-materials handling requirements.

·   Ability to operate manual-transmission trucks when required and perform physical freight-handling tasks safely.

·   Experience using GPS navigation systems for route optimization and accurate navigation.

·   Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures, freight management, cargo securement, and logistics handling practices.

·   Strong understanding of applicable DOT regulations related to commercial driving and hazardous-materials transportation.
