MMC Group is seeking an organized, dependable Shipping Clerk to support a manufacturing team in Harlan, IA. You’ll help keep orders moving by preparing shipments, receiving materials, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with other departments.

This opportunity is a strong fit for someone who enjoys active, hands-on work and pays close attention to details.

Your Responsibilities

• Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipment.
• Check orders and shipments for accurate quantities and documentation.
• Process packing slips, bills of lading, and export paperwork.
• Receive and inspect incoming materials.
• Measure products and select appropriate packaging.
• Build or assemble crates and shipping containers as needed.
• Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes after required training and certification.
• Update shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
• Work with production, sales, and quality teams to meet shipping priorities.
• Maintain shipping supplies and a clean, safe, organized workspace.

What We’re Looking For

• Current residence within 30 miles of Harlan, IA.
• Ability to follow written instructions and read shipping documents.
• Experience using measuring tools and verifying dimensions.
• Basic computer, data entry, and math skills.
• Strong accuracy, organization, and communication.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to complete required forklift and overhead crane certification training.

Helpful Experience

• 1–2 years in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics.
• Manufacturing or freight shipping experience.
• UPS WorldShip or similar shipping software.
• Bills of lading and export documentation.
• Forklift or overhead crane operation.
• Crating, carpentry, or packaging.
• SDS/HazCom shipping regulations.

A high school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Training is provided for forklift operation, overhead crane operation, and crating.

Work Environment

Expect an active manufacturing and warehouse setting involving standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling packages and materials. The position includes working around moving equipment, moderate noise, varying temperatures, and occasional outdoor weather exposure.
