Shipping Lead – Warehouse & Outbound Operations

Location: Kansas City, MO
Pay: $20.00–$22.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Shipping Lead to support daily warehouse shipping and outbound operations across multiple facilities in Kansas City, MO. This role helps coordinate outbound loads, verify shipping information, prepare finished goods for shipment, and ensure orders are accurately documented and safely loaded for delivery.

The ideal candidate has previous warehouse or shipping experience, strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and the ability to operate a forklift or willingness to do so if qualified. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate outbound shipments across multiple facilities.
• Use a warehouse management system (WMS) to create outbound orders, scan finished goods, and locate inventory.
• Verify that shipping orders, product information, and shipping labels match accurately.
• Apply required shipping labels and placards to finished goods before loading.
• Scan products against the correct shipping orders to maintain inventory and shipment accuracy.
• Ensure finished goods are loaded safely and efficiently onto trucks.
• Perform quality inspections using a web-based quality management system.
• Review shipping documents for accuracy and completeness before providing them to truck drivers.
• Operate a forklift as needed, following all applicable safety procedures.
• Follow company policies, warehouse procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work a flexible schedule when business needs require.
• Assist with other warehouse and shipping duties as assigned.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of shipping, warehouse, or related experience.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn warehouse management systems.
• General proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Basic math and arithmetic skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred:

• Previous forklift operating experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
• Experience with shipping documentation, barcode scanning, inventory systems, or outbound logistics.
