General Production Worker Industrial Polisher

Job Description

We are looking for a reliable Industrial Polisher to join a fast-paced metal finishing and manufacturing environment. In this role, you will prepare, polish, inspect, and move metal parts throughout the production process. This is a hands-on position that is a great fit for someone who is safety-conscious, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable with repetitive production work.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean metal parts to remove debris and contaminants before finishing.
• Dry parts and apply required chemicals or polishing compounds.
• Operate a stationary industrial polishing machine to achieve the required finish.
• Inspect completed parts visually and by touch to ensure quality and consistency.
• Place finished parts into designated containers, racks, or storage areas.
• Use a pallet jack to move containers and materials throughout the production area.
• Retrieve and stage empty containers to keep production moving efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.
• Assist with general production and material handling duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or general labor is preferred.
• Comfortable performing repetitive physical work throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift approximately 3050 lbs repeatedly.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Comfortable operating or learning to operate industrial polishing equipment.
• Experience using pallet jacks or other material handling equipment is a plus.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are important.

Work Environment

This position is located in an industrial metal plating and coating facility with approximately 100 employees across three plants. Employees work around metal components, production equipment, chemicals, and stationary polishing machines. Temperatures can vary depending on the season and department, including warmer conditions in the summer and colder conditions in the winter.

This is an active manufacturing environment where employees are expected to follow safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping practices, and wear appropriate production-floor clothing and closed-toe shoes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
