About the Role

The client is seeking a skilled Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered heavy-duty vehicles, specialized vehicles, and related equipment. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, maintain, and repair diesel-powered vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, and powertrain systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, lubrication, and tire maintenance.
• Repair and replace engines, transmissions, hydraulic components, and other equipment assemblies.
• Use diagnostic tools, shop equipment, and specialized tools to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and emergency roadside repairs as needed.
• Conduct equipment inspections and operational tests to verify repairs and ensure safety.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow established safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing automotive, diesel-powered, or heavy-duty equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain systems.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a shop environment.
• Must provide and maintain personal tools.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel and work weekends as required.
• CDL Class A is a plus but not required.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekends and travel as required.
