Job Description
Ready to be the go-to expert for hospital sterilizer cleaning?

Join STERIS in a field-based role that keeps hospitals running safely. As the trusted face on site, you’ll deliver chamber cleaning and light maintenance on complex sterilization systems in demanding clinical settings—while keeping Customers, Field Service partners, and contract teams aligned.

Role snapshot
  • Provide on-site sterilizer chamber cleaning in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
  • Adjust and monitor chemical solutions, track cleaning cycles and pressures, and follow safety protocols for handling, transporting, and disposing of chemicals.
  • Perform simple maintenance and minor repairs on chamber-cleaning equipment; escalate issues to the right expert when needed.
  • Coordinate daily routes and appointments with the Scheduling Team and your Supervisor to maximize coverage and service quality.
  • Keep Customers updated on preventive cleaning needs, timing, and next steps; act as a proactive advisor who identifies service enhancement opportunities.
  • Use a company-issued smartphone, laptop, and software to complete reports and required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Own the care of your company vehicle, tools, supplies, and parts inventory; maintain safe, effective operation and escalate concerns promptly.
Travel and schedule
  • Remote, Customer-facing field position.
  • Frequent travel: generally 40–50% overnight. Most trips are regional by take-home company van; occasional flights to support other territories.
  • Territory: Mississippi with overlap into Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, and parts of Tennessee; periods of 50%+ overnight travel should be expected.
  • Full-time with rotating shifts (morning/afternoon/night) and some weekend days; flexibility is essential to meet Customer demand.
Must-have qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of total work experience, including 1+ year in a technical/service trade (sterile processing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, automotive, etc.).
  • Associate degree, relevant certifications, or military experience may count toward the experience requirement.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work outside standard business hours, including overtime and weekends, with up to 50% overnight travel.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills and mobile apps for documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and Customer communication abilities.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving; self-directed and reliable.
