Job Description
Looking for a part-time role with guaranteed hours, a family vehicle provided, and a smooth hand-off from a longtime nanny who will train you? A Dunwoody family is seeking a proactive, organized Nanny/Family Assistant to care for their two children and help keep the household humming. This split-shift role averages 28–30 hours a week with 25 hours guaranteed. It's a great fit for someone who loves structure, takes initiative, and wants to become a trusted, long-term part of a family's daily life.
Mornings are all about getting everyone out the door on time. You'll help the children get ready, pack snacks and water bottles, and handle drop-offs at two different schools about 20–30 minutes apart. In the afternoon you'll pick both children up and help with drinks, fruit, and simple snacks while the parents prepare dinner. Then you'll lead the bath, pajama, and bedtime routine. Along the way you'll keep things moving at home: children's laundry (and occasional family laundry), unloading the dishwasher, after-dinner kitchen cleanup, making beds, and light organization. Children's meal prep, grocery runs, errands, and organization projects may be added as needed.
The children are active, creative, and full of personality. One loves basketball, trains, trucks, and anything outdoors. The other loves singing, dancing, gymnastics, art, cooking, and all things fancy. The family values respect, clear boundaries, and consistent follow-through. They want someone who is fun and engaging but also firm and confident setting limits, the kind of caregiver the kids adore but don't walk all over. Patience and a calm approach during tired-time meltdowns are a must, as is helping the children work through disagreements on their own.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and able to read the room, noticing when the car needs gas or supplies are running low without being asked. A professional, teachable attitude is key, since the parents appreciate someone who follows the family's routines and preferences carefully. You'll need to be comfortable driving a larger family vehicle. Occasional overnights or travel may be available but are never expected.
