APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an established manufacturing company in Sterling Heights, MI, seeking an experienced TIG Welder to join their team!
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder who takes pride in precision work and has experience working with aluminum, stainless steel, and nickel alloys. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to produce high-quality welds that meet strict manufacturing and aerospace specifications.

What your day will look like:
- Set up and operate TIG welding equipment to weld aluminum, stainless steel, and nickel alloy components
- Perform precision TIG welding on thin-gauge stainless steel materials, including thicknesses as thin as 0.032"
- Produce high-quality welds that meet AWS and applicable aerospace welding specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications
- Perform custom welding and fabrication based on project requirements
- Prepare welding joints using hand grinders, sanders, and other appropriate tools
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications
- Troubleshoot welding challenges and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain welding equipment and work areas to ensure safe operations
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
- Perform additional duties as needed to support production requirements
What we are looking for:
- Previous hands-on TIG welding experience required
- Experience welding aluminum, stainless steel, and nickel alloys preferred
- Ability to perform precision welding on thin-gauge materials
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of AWS welding standards and aerospace welding specifications preferred
- Experience with custom welding and fabrication
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Completion of a one-year welding certification program from a college or technical school, or at least one year of related experience or training; equivalent combinations considered
- Must successfully pass a hands-on welding test
- Must meet all pre-employment requirements
