Building Maintenance Worker - Now Hiring

Description:  Maintenance/Janitor

Competition Automotive Group, a family-owned and operated automotive group serving Long Island since 1962, seeks a reliable, detail-oriented Maintenance/Janitor team member to keep Competition BMW and Genesis of Smithtown dealerships in St. James/Smithtown clean, organized, and professional.  The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows an established cleaning schedule, and understands the importance of maintaining a welcoming environment for both customers and employees.  

Working Schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8am - 4pm.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the showroom, service area, customer lounge, coffee station, restrooms, and employee break room areas.
• Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
• Collect and dispose of garbage and recyclables throughout the buildings.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain coffee machines, coffee lounges, refrigerators, freezers, cabinets, drawers, and break room appliances.
• Stock and maintain coffee stations, restrooms, and cleaning supplies.
• Inspect restrooms and common areas regularly to ensure adequate supplies and cleanliness.
• Conduct weekly supply inventories, order or pick up supplies as needed, and keep storage areas organized.
• Clean interior and exterior glass, doors, and other visible surfaces, removing fingerprints, smudges, and dirt.
• Dust and clean furniture, displays, walls, and other surfaces; remove scuff marks and address high-traffic areas as needed.
• Run light errands as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  

• Previous janitorial, custodial, or general maintenance experience required.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Organized and capable of following a daily and weekly task schedule.
• Ability to perform physical duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 40lbs, and mopping.
• Positive attitude and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Compensation details: 22-25 Hourly Wage
