Concrete Technician!

Job Overview

We are seeking a hardworking Concrete Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will assist with residential and commercial concrete projects, including form setting, concrete placement, finishing, and foundation work. Ideal candidates have hands-on concrete experience, enjoy working outdoors, and take pride in producing high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and align concrete forms to required grades, depths, and project specifications.
• Assist with concrete pours, including placing, leveling, screeding, and finishing concrete surfaces.
• Operate hand and power tools such as trowels, screeds, floats, rakes, and shovels.
• Create smooth, broom-finished, or textured surfaces based on project requirements.
• Form expansion joints, edges, and control joints to ensure proper concrete performance and appearance.
• Apply curing, sealing, and protective compounds to finished concrete.
• Support foundation, flatwork, sidewalks, driveways, patios, and other concrete construction projects.
• Inspect finished surfaces for quality and make repairs or corrections as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area while following company safety procedures.
• Assist with general labor duties and support crew members to ensure projects stay on schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience with residential or commercial concrete projects.
• Ability to read grades, set forms, and perform concrete finishing work.
• Familiarity with hand and power finishing equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly throughout the day.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work well within a team environment.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with flatwork, foundations, sidewalks, and curb work.
• Knowledge of concrete curing and sealing processes.
• Ability to identify and correct surface imperfections and finishing issues.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

This position involves working outdoors on residential and commercial job sites with a small crew. Employees can expect a physically active role involving frequent lifting, standing, bending, and the use of hand and power tools. Typical schedules average 45-50 hours per week, with overtime available based on project needs.

This is a Contract position based out of Waterloo, IA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
