Patient Account Representative – Follow-Up
Responsible for hospital billing, cash posting, and insurance claims follow-up. The role involves resolving underpayments and denials, verifying insurance eligibility, and communicating with patients and insurers to address billing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cash posting and hospital billing activities.
- Follow up on claims, underpayments, and denials.
- Work with commercial payers, including Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Horizon, and IBX.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Address questions regarding copays, deductibles, denials, and Coordination of Benefits (COB).
- Resolve accounts accurately and promptly while providing excellent customer service.
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of hospital billing experience.
- Experience with cash posting, claims follow-up, underpayments, and denials.
- Familiarity with commercial insurance payers.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
