Job Description

APEX Placement & Consulting has partnered with an established manufacturer of metal roofing and building products looking to add a Senior Operator to its team! In this role, you’ll operate advanced manufacturing equipment, help coordinate production, and train fellow team members while maintaining safety and quality standards.

What your day will look like:

Set up and operate specialized manufacturing equipment, including panel lines, roll-forming equipment, and material-handling systems.
Help coordinate daily production activities to meet schedules and performance goals.
Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, escalating concerns to leadership or maintenance when needed.
Inspect finished products using measuring tools, drawings, and production specifications.
Train and support Operators and Technicians on equipment, procedures, safety, and quality requirements.
Communicate production updates and priorities between shifts.
Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and equipment performance.
Complete production and training documentation accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures.
Cross-train in additional production areas and assist where needed.

What we’re looking for:

Three years of experience operating production equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Previous experience as a lead, senior operator, or trainer preferred.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and measuring tools.
Experience using forklifts, cranes, hoists, or similar material-handling equipment preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively and help guide fellow team members.
Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Teams, and digital communication tools.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Technical training in manufacturing, machining, or mechanics and familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S are a plus.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and occasionally lift up to 55 pounds, with reasonable accommodation as needed.
Comfort working around machinery in an environment that may be loud, subject to varying temperatures, and occasionally exposed to outdoor conditions.
Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed for training or business needs.
