Job Title: Operating Room Nurse
Location: Chicago, IL
Shift: Monday–Friday

About the Role

We are seeking a full‐time, 1st shift Operating Room Nurse to join our nursing team. The ideal candidate will have prior operating room experience and the ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast‐paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, well‐coordinated direct patient care in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Perform thorough assessments of patients’ physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs
• Identify and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Initiate discharge planning upon admission
• Monitor and report patient symptoms, changes in status, and diagnostic results
• Administer treatments and medications, educating patients on usage and side effects
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Educate patients on discharge instructions and follow‐up care needs
• Adhere to infection control protocols (CAUTI, CLABSI, VAE, SSI, etc.)
• Maintain accurate medical records through complete documentation
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
• Report suspected abuse, adverse events, medication errors, and unsafe practices promptly
• Ensure patient safety and satisfaction

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of prior experience as an OR Nurse
• Current Illinois RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• BSN preferred
