Job Description
Executive Director

PCGH, Inc. | Roxboro, North Carolina | Full-Time

PCGH has been part of Person County for more than 50 years, providing residential and community-based services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Today, we support approximately 100 individuals across a diverse network of residential homes, adult day programs, and community services.

We're looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Executive Director who understands the world of adult I/DD services and sees the opportunities ahead for an organization like ours.

PCGH has a strong foundation, an experienced team, and a long history of serving its community. Our next Executive Director will help build on those strengths, strengthen organizational performance, develop our people, and explore new ways to expand opportunities for the individuals we support.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides overall leadership for PCGH's programs, operations, finances, and organizational development. The position also serves as Corporate Compliance Officer and directly supervises the agency's management team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead our programs. Provide executive oversight of ICF/IID facilities, community residences, adult day programs, and other services, ensuring quality, safety, and meaningful outcomes.
  • Develop our people. Guide and support an experienced management team, strengthen accountability, and foster a workplace where employees can succeed and grow.
  • Protect our standards. Oversee regulatory compliance, Medicaid and managed care requirements, licensing, CARF accreditation, and organizational quality improvement.
  • Steward our resources. Lead financial planning, oversee budgets and operational performance, and promote the organization's long-term sustainability.
  • Help shape our future. Partner with the Board to develop strategy, strengthen community relationships, identify opportunities for growth, and translate ideas into achievable plans.
What We're Looking For

Direct management experience in adult I/DD services, including residential program operations, is essential. We're seeking a leader who understands both the people we serve and the regulatory and operational responsibilities involved in supporting them.

Required qualifications:

  • At least three years of management-level experience in adult I/DD services, including responsibility for staffed residential programs.
  • Experience overseeing licensed group homes, ICF/IID facilities, or comparable adult I/DD residential services.
  • Demonstrated leadership of program managers, supervisors, or other management-level staff.
  • Experience with Medicaid-funded services, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Experience managing program or organizational budgets.
  • Ability to meet North Carolina Qualified Professional (QP) standards.

Particularly valuable experience:

  • Multi-site or multi-program I/DD leadership.
  • NC Medicaid waiver services, HCBS requirements, and ICF/IID regulations.
  • CARF accreditation, regulatory surveys, and organizational quality improvement.
  • Nonprofit management, Board relations, strategic planning, and program development.
  • Services for individuals with TBI or complex support needs.
An Opportunity to Lead What's Next

We recognize that strong executive leaders develop through different career paths. Candidates currently serving as I/DD operations directors, program directors, or other senior disability-services leaders are encouraged to apply if their experience demonstrates readiness for agency-wide responsibility.

We're looking for someone who can balance sound judgment and operational discipline with creativity, initiative, and a clear vision for PCGH's future.

This is a full-time, primarily on-site position in Roxboro, NC, with regular involvement across our programs and occasional evening meetings or urgent operational responsibilities.

Thank you for considering this opportunity. We look forward to learning about the experience and perspective you could bring to our organization.

PCGH, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
