- Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, carrier pickups, deliveries, and truck schedules.
- Ensure orders are shipped accurately, documented properly, and delivered on time.
- Maintain accurate inventory, warehouse locations, and system transactions.
- Oversee cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and follow through on corrective actions.
- Coordinate material availability and movement with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Customer Service.
- Establish and improve standard work, warehouse procedures, and team workflows.
- Monitor results such as on-time shipping, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, productivity, and receiving turnaround.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area using 5S and continuous-improvement practices.
- Identify operational issues and work with other departments to resolve them.
What we’re looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least five years of experience in warehouse, distribution, shipping and receiving, or logistics operations.
- At least three years of experience leading or supervising employees.
- Experience coordinating shipments, carriers, deliveries, or transportation.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, order fulfillment, and material flow.
- Experience using an ERP or warehouse-management system.
- Ability to use performance information to identify problems and improve processes.
- Clear communication, sound judgment, and a practical, team-focused leadership style.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading a large or multi-shift team.
- Epicor or another manufacturing ERP system experience.
- Lean, 5S, or continuous-improvement experience; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Forklift experience or certification.
- College coursework or a degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field.
Working conditions
This position requires frequent time on the warehouse and production floors. The role involves standing and walking for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed. Safety glasses and steel-toed shoes are required in designated areas.
Benefits
We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes insurance coverage, paid time off, paid holidays, a 401(k) with employer match, tuition reimbursement, and additional voluntary benefits.
