Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler supports ongoing warehouse transitions by safely moving, staging, scanning, and organizing inventory and parts between manufacturing locations and a new warehouse. This role focuses on sit-down forklift operation, RF scanning, and ERP-based picking to ensure manufacturing continues smoothly during a major facility and line relocation.

Responsibilities

  • Stage materials and parts to support continuous manufacturing operations during warehouse and line moves.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to move inventory, pallets, and materials safely within the warehouse and between dock areas.
  • Use RF scanners to scan, track, and update inventory locations and movements accurately.
  • Perform picking activities using an ERP system (such as JDE) to fulfill internal orders and production needs.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers at the dock while following safe material handling practices.
  • Move inventory and parts between facilities and designated warehouse areas as lines and operations are relocated.
  • Organize and maintain staging areas to ensure materials are clearly labeled, accessible, and ready for production.
  • Follow all safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines, including forklift recertification requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse and manufacturing teams to prioritize material flow and minimize production disruptions.
  • Adapt to changing workflows and locations as the warehouse and lines transition to High Flow areas and other facility configurations.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of recent experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with RF scanners or the ability to quickly learn RF scanning technology.
  • Experience with picking operations using an ERP system, such as JDE or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in material handling, including staging orders, loading, and unloading.
  • Ability to perform dock work, including safe movement of pallets and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail when scanning, staging, and documenting inventory movements.
  • Reliability and consistency in following established safety and operational procedures.

Why Work Here?

You join a growing operation that offers clear opportunities for advancement, including a direct path with up to three raises in an 18month period. The organization values performance and reliability, and strong contributors are actively considered for longterm roles as new positions open across the facility. You work in a culture that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and supporting one another through major operational changes, providing stability and room to grow your skills in warehousing and manufacturing support.

Work Environment

The role is based in an active warehouse environment undergoing a major transition, with lines and operations being moved to high-flow areas and between facilities. You work primarily on a sit-down forklift, using RF scanners and an ERP system such as JDE to manage inventory and picking tasks. The position involves regular dock work, including staging, loading, and unloading trucks, as well as moving materials between facilities and designated warehouse zones. Schedules are structured around two main shifts: a first shift that prefers 4x10-hour days (for example, 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) but can be adjusted to 5x8-hour days if needed, and a second shift with 4x10-hour days (2:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight) that includes a shift premium. The environment is fast-paced, safety-focused, and collaborative, with ongoing hiring and evolving opportunities as the warehouse move progresses.
