Reach Truck Operator - Now Hiring

This position involves operating a stand-up reach truck forklift in a cold storage warehouse to perform putaways, pick orders, move inventory, and build shipments using RF scanners and a computer system. You will work on a consistent second-shift schedule, handling material movement and order processing in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and safety.

• Operate a stand-up reach truck forklift safely and efficiently to perform putaways and pick items.
• Pick customer orders accurately and in a timely manner using RF scanners and printed order documents.
• Perform putaways by moving products from receiving or staging areas into designated inventory bays.
• Break down pallets and move skids to appropriate locations within the warehouse.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring products are handled carefully and stacked securely.
• Use RF scanners to track inventory movement and confirm picks, putaways, and order completion.
• Print orders and use the computer system to complete, update, and build orders as required.
• Stage orders for shipment, including wrapping, labeling, and organizing pallets for outbound loading.
• Regularly get off the forklift to perform staging, wrapping, picking, and other manual material handling tasks.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and help with shipping and receiving activities as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, particularly those related to forklift operation and working in cold storage.
• Support warehouse shipping and receiving operations by assisting with order pulling, inventory checks, and general material handling.

• 12 years of recent experience operating a reach truck or stand-up reach forklift in a warehouse environment.
• Proven ability to perform putaways and pick orders using a reach truck.
• Experience loading and unloading trucks and handling pallets and skids.
• Ability to build and stage orders for shipment, including wrapping and organizing pallets.
• Comfort working in a cold storage environment at approximately 30 degrees.
• Ability to use RF scanners to perform inventory and order-related tasks.
• Basic computer skills to use warehouse systems for printing, updating, and completing orders.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking, putaway, and inventory tasks.
• Ability to perform physical material handling, including getting on and off the forklift frequently.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work second shift hours (approximately 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.).

• Experience in warehouse shipping and receiving operations.
• Background in inventory handling and order pulling in a distribution or cold storage facility.
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
• Familiarity with stand-up lift equipment and reach forklifts in high-bay storage environments.

This role is based in a cold storage warehouse with inventory bays for storing products at approximately 30 degrees. You will work on second shift, typically from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., on a schedule that includes Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Tuesday and Saturday off. The environment involves regular use of stand-up reach truck forklifts, RF scanners, and computer systems in a fast-paced shipping and receiving operation. The company provides cold-weather gear such as jackets, gloves, bibs, and suits, and you may wear your own hoodies, jackets, hats, and other appropriate attire to stay comfortable while working in the refrigerated facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lyons, IL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
