About this job
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Light Gauge Steel (LGS) Framer to join our construction team for a residential development project in Austin, Texas.
The project consists of three detached, two-story residential homes, each approximately 1,750 square feet, built using light gauge steel framing.
We need someone who has actual field experience installing light gauge steel framing, not just general wood framing or construction experience.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install light gauge steel wall panels, floor joists, roof framing, and structural components.
- Read and accurately interpret structural and framing drawings.
- Install steel studs, tracks, bracing, blocking, and structural connections.
- Ensure proper alignment, leveling, spacing, and fastening.
- Work with prefabricated and individually cut steel framing components.
- Identify and resolve framing issues in the field.
- Work efficiently with our existing framing crew.
- Follow structural engineering specifications and jobsite safety requirements.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience with light gauge steel framing is mandatory.
- Experience framing complete residential or commercial structures using cold-formed steel.
- Ability to read and understand detailed framing and structural plans.
- Knowledge of steel framing connections, screws, bracing, and installation methods.
- Experience with steel framing tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented.
- Experience leading or supervising framing crews is a plus.
Important
We are NOT looking for someone who only has wood framing experience or someone who needs to learn light gauge steel framing from scratch.
We need an experienced professional who can arrive on-site and immediately contribute to the construction process.
To Apply:
Please send us:
- Your years of hands-on light gauge steel framing experience.
- Examples or photos of previous LGS framing projects.
- Your availability to start.
- Your expected hourly rate.
*Immediate start available for qualified candidates.*
