CNC Lathe Machinist

We’re looking for a CNC Lathe Machinists for an established precision metal manufacturer in Ogden.

You’ll run CNC lathes to make precision parts to blueprint and specification, check your own work as you go, and keep quality and safety standards high.

The schedule is four 9-hour days with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes following approved work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
• Take shift assignments and priorities from the lead and follow production schedules.
• Watch machine operation and part quality throughout each run, and catch problems early.
• Inspect parts at required intervals and at completion with micrometers, calipers, and gauges to confirm tolerances.
• Fill out production and inspection records accurately.
• Stop work and tell the lead or supervisor when parts are out of spec or equipment issues could affect quality or safety.
• Handle routine machine care and tool maintenance, and keep your machine and work area clean and organized.
• Follow all safety procedures, machine guarding, and PPE requirements, and suggest ways to improve quality and processes.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of CNC lathe experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and written work instructions.
• Accurate use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Basic shop math for machining and dimensional inspection.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
• Good communication skills, and the ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
• This is an ITAR facility, so candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
