Medical Assistant (certified)

We are seeking a motivated, professional, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join a growing orthopedic spine surgery practice in Manhattan, New York City. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a specialized surgical environment and wants to play an important role in delivering exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will be organized, personable, proactive, and comfortable working closely with a spine surgeon in a busy clinical setting.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting the physician with daily clinical and administrative operations.
• Preparing patients for examinations and documenting relevant clinical information.
• Taking and recording vital signs and updating patient medical histories.
• Coordinating patient appointments, follow-ups, referrals, and diagnostic testing.
• Managing medical records, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting EMR workflows.
• Communicating with patients, pharmacies, imaging centers, and other healthcare providers.
• Supporting insurance authorizations and coordinating patient care as needed.
• Maintaining examination rooms and ensuring a professional, patient-focused environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an orthopedic, spine, neurosurgical, or surgical practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR).
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Professional demeanor and excellent patient service skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the physician and clinical team.
• Relevant Medical Assistant certification is a plus.
