Job Opportunity: Handyman / Apartment Maintenance Technician (Affordable Housing)

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team serving our affordable housing communities. This role is currently structured as a full-time position split between two locations, offering a stable and rewarding opportunity for the right candidate.

• Locations: Schofield, WI & Mosinee, WI
• Schedule: Currently Full-Time (Split between locations), M-F 8am-5pm; transitioning to Part-Time.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will maintain the physical integrity of our apartment communities. You will perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, and unit turnovers. This role requires a self-starter who can work independently and manage their time effectively across two sites.

Translatable Skills

While we prefer direct apartment maintenance experience, we value transferable experience and skills from other industries. You may be a great fit if you have a background in:

• Construction & Trades: Carpentry, basic plumbing, or electrical wiring.
• Facilities Maintenance: Experience in hotels, schools, or commercial buildings.
• General Contracting: Handyman services, remodeling, or renovation work.
• Military Technical Roles: Mechanical or civil engineering specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC (basic), and carpentry.
• Handle apartment "make-ready" tasks to prepare units for new residents.
• Respond to resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Conduct regular property inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Ensure the grounds and common areas of our affordable housing units are clean and well-maintained.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in apartment maintenance or a highly relatable field is required.
• Independence: Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliability: Strong work ethic and dependable transportation to travel between Schofield and Mosinee.
• Tools: Proficiency with common hand and power tools.
