CDL Driver - Front Load

Front-End Drivers operate front-end trucks that provide services to a variety of multi-family residential and commercial routes removing and transporting waste or recyclables in fulfillment of customer contracts. This position will service multiple customers per day according to assigned routes. The waste will then need to be transferred to the appropriate station, landfill or drop-off location.

 

Pay: $27+/hour

This position will service multiple customers per day according to assigned routes. The waste will then need to be transferred to the appropriate station, landfill or drop-off location.

Key Responsibilities

• Route Operations: Safely operate commercial front-load or ancillary trucks to collect solid waste/recyclables and transport them to disposal facilities. Use key maps and GPS for efficient navigation.
• Site & Equipment Handling: Access container enclosures/gates, reposition 3- to 4-yard castered containers, and dump waste. Clean loose spilled trash to maintain site cleanliness.
• Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections. Submit daily logs, route sheets, and vehicle condition reports as required.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety rules, equipment checks, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and local/federal DOT regulations. Monitor dumping for loose debris or unacceptable waste.
• Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and the public along routes; report issues needing management action.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensing & Experience: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Ability to safely drive, operate, and back up commercial trucks in tight spaces (120+ feet using mirrors).
• Technical Knowledge & Skills: Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and ability to identify hazard/unacceptable waste (e.g., flammables).Ability to read maps, follow written/verbal instructions, and communicate effectively.
• Physical Requirements: Lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly, 50 lbs frequently, and up to 100 lbs (or push 300 lbs) occasionally. Ability to climb onto trucks, enter/exit vehicle multiple times per shift, and stand/walk/reach continuously. Pass safety-sensitive function screening and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
