Hospital Housekeeper / Environmental Service Technician (EVS) – $18.35/hr | Portland, OR | Day Shift.
Our Health care Division is seeking dependable and motivated Environmental Service Technicians (EVS) for a local contract opportunity supporting the Portland VA Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.
No prior experience required! On-site training provided.
Job Details:
- Facility: Portland VA Medical Center.
- Location: 3710 SW US Veterans Hospital Rd, Portland, OR 97239.
- Position: Environmental Service Technician (EVS) – Sanitation.
- Employment Type: Local Contract.
- Proposed Pay Rate: $18.35/hour, based on qualifications and final approval.
- Shift: 10:00 AM–8:30 PM.
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday.
- Start Date: Upon completion of VA onboarding and background clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, offices, hallways, exam rooms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors.
- Empty trash, remove waste, and replenish cleaning supplies.
- Perform terminal cleaning of vacant exam rooms as directed.
- Follow infection prevention and workplace safety procedures.
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals, equipment, and PPE.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary healthcare environment.
Qualifications:
- No prior experience required; on-site training provided.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous housekeeping, custodial, or EVS experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely move cleaning carts and equipment.
- Closed-toe footwear required.
Onboarding Requirements:
- REAL ID-compliant identification or another form of identification accepted by the VA.
- VA fingerprinting and background investigation.
- Successful drug screening.
- Completion of required VA onboarding and safety training.
