Job Description

The Packer plays a key role in preparing candy products for shipment by carefully packaging, inspecting, and handling materials in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This position ensures that products meet quality standards, production lines stay supplied and efficient, and safety and cleanliness procedures are followed at all times.

Responsibilities

• Package and pack candy products according to established company standards and guidelines.
• Inspect candy and packaging to ensure appearance, quality, and labeling meet all requirements.
• Set up and organize packaging materials and supplies to keep production and packing lines running smoothly.
• Stack finished products on pallets in an orderly manner and prepare them for shipping.
• Move finished products, ingredients, and packaging materials throughout the warehouse using pallet jacks when needed.
• Follow all safety, quality, and food manufacturing procedures, including GMPs, throughout the shift.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and keep equipment wiped down and free of debris during and after the shift.
• Complete basic production paperwork and tracking sheets accurately and in a timely manner.
• Make small machine adjustments when instructed to support efficient packaging and production.
• Work closely with team members to meet daily production and packing goals.
• Report any quality, safety, or equipment concerns promptly to supervisors or designated personnel.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a smock, hair net, gloves, and hearing protection when necessary.
• Perform repetitive tasks such as packing, labeling, stacking, and inspecting products with attention to detail.
• Assist with loading, order picking, and general labor tasks as needed to support production and warehouse operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, production, or warehouse experience is a plus.
• Experience with packing, packaging, order picking, loading, or general labor is beneficial.
• Familiarity with using pallet jacks to move materials and finished products.
• Comfort working overtime and occasional weekends based on production schedules.

Work Environment

This role is based in a fast-paced production environment with employees working around moving production and packaging equipment. You will spend most of the shift standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility, performing repetitive tasks such as packing, labeling, stacking, and inspecting products. The atmosphere is team-oriented, with a strong focus on meeting daily production goals while following strict food safety, quality, and cleanliness standards. You are required to wear personal protective equipment, including a smock, hair net, gloves, and hearing protection when needed. The work may involve lifting boxes, handling packaging materials, and moving finished products with pallet jacks. Production schedules can include overtime and weekend work depending on business needs. Current shifts are Monday through Thursday, with a first shift from 4:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a second shift from 3:15 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.; these will transition to a Monday through Friday schedule with a first shift from 5:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and a second shift from 1:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The workplace is friendly and positive, emphasizing teamwork, consistency, safety, and the production of high-quality candy products.

This is a Contract position based out of Camp Hill, PA.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
