Staff Accountant

Elite Fuels Transportation is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting functions across our company and affiliated entities.

This position will be responsible for general ledger accounting, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting within a fast-paced, multi-entity fuel transportation and logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts for multiple entities.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, charges, and allocations.
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable, including fuel purchase and terminal-related invoices.
• Support payroll processing and related accounting journal entries in coordination with Payroll/HR.
• Track fuel inventory costs, fleet maintenance expenses, and terminal-level cost allocations.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation for trucks, trailers, and terminal equipment.
• Assist with budgeting and variance analysis by entity and terminal location.
• Maintain accurate financial records for operations across Southern California, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and El Paso.
• Support internal and external audits and tax preparation.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and applicable transportation-related cost tracking requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience.
• Multi-entity accounting experience preferred.
• Transportation, trucking, logistics, or fuel industry experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Strong to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with intercompany reconciliations and allocations preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting/tax principles.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management.
• Ability to manage accounting responsibilities across multiple companies and locations.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous accounting experience within the fuel transportation, trucking, or logistics industry is highly preferred and considered a significant plus. Candidates with direct industry experience will receive stronger consideration.
• Experience working within a multi-entity organization, including intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and allocations.
• Familiarity with accounting related to fuel purchases, transportation operations, fleet expenses, maintenance costs, terminals, or similar operational expenses.
• Experience supporting accounting functions across multiple locations or business entities.

Schedule

Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

This is a full-time position with overtime required as business needs arise.
