POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Laundry Aide

Department: Environmental Services

Reports to Laundry Supervisor/Director of Environmental Services

 

Position Hours: 11a-7:30p, 5 days per week including every other weekend and holiday. 


Qualifications 

 

Follow verbal and written directions

 

Essential Functions

  1. Maintain a steady work pace to produce an adequate supply of clean garments and linens.
  1. Place garments and linens in drum of electrically powered washer
  1. Identify and report any malfunctions in equipment
  1. Prevent the spread of infection through proper handling, storage, washing and transporting of all garments and linens.
  1. Operate an automated laundry solution dispensing system
  1. Transfer garments from the washer to the dryer
  1. Hang, fold and stack garments and linens
  1. Report any garments or linens in ill repair to seamstress
  1. Distribute clothes to residents’ rooms
  1. Observe infection control procedures related to the Laundry Department
  1. Attend in-service training programs
  1. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
  1. Work in other Hospitality areas, such as Dining Service and Housekeeping, when called upon to do so.
  1. Follow Resident’s Rights policies at all times
  1. Follow facility safety program
  1. Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner
  2. Assume accountability for data contained in the Staff Handbook
  1. Understand and comply with the Corporate Compliance Program
  1. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Laundry Supervisor 
  1. Know, understand and exemplify the Mission and Values of Jennings: Respect, Compassion, Community, Discovery of Potential, and Celebration of Life
